shedmansions

Are you treating your emails like a shed by throwing everything and anything in, and not maintaining them? Or are you treating them like a mansion whereby you put maximum effort into maintaining them and always give them the love they need?

Email marketing is essential if you want a steady flow of leads and customers to your business. You may think whipping up an email that will sell is easy – but it’s not; it needs to be crafted with love and skill.

You need to utilize techniques in order to drive growth to your business through one of the most powerful marketing tools out there.

Anyone can get an email together and send it out hoping for the best. But strategy is key, and will drastically impact your results. It will not only keep your business at the top of each customers mind, but it will also keep you emails out of the receivers spam folder – which is hugely important.

So, here are a few bite-size ways to increase your email effectiveness.

1: Entice them. Give your readers an incentive to want to sign up to your brand. Do not tell them so much as to what is on offer, but more of what THEY can benefit from signing up. People only want to know what they will gain if they carry out a particular action, and that is what you have to give them.

Motivate your leads well and your signups will soar higher than you can imagine. Give them something for free; an e-book, a whitepaper, a free trail, a discount. Anything; people love a freebie!

2: Content, content, content. Your email copy needs to be impeccable! Content is king, and that will never change.

Throughout your emails you need to create a positive loop that will keep your readers constantly wanting more and more.

Focus on giving them value for opening your email. A bit of education, a tip, or just some advice will get your readers to feel comfortable with your brand; which will hopefully lead them to loving you so much, that they will not be able to resist taking up your offer.

3: Don’t drift! It is important to keep your message focused on exactly what you are aiming for.

Make sure to segment your email marketing lists in order to send the right message, to the right person, at the right time, and not just send a bunch of emails to a group of people with completely different interests and needs. Tailor your messages to their needs, and you will certainly be surprised with the results.

4: Just press it!  Make sure to pay close attention to your call to actions; as so will your readers.

It is one of the most important aspects of your email. It is what is to drive them to your site and take the action your want them to. If you don’t effectively convince your readers to take action, then what is the point of your email, right? Make sure to focus on your call to actions and use compelling words that will attract your reader to WANT what you have to offer. This is certainly the most powerful way to increase your customer base.

5: Test it, and again, and again… Every time you are crafting (not whipping up) your ‘perfect’ marketing message, you always need to keep in mind that you do not get a second chance at making a first impression.

Get it wrong and you will just be left with a bunch of unopened emails or unsubscribers.  Sometimes you might see that an email of value will work better than a pure promo email, and vice-versa. It’s all in the testing to see what works well for you and your prospective customer!

6: Track, track and track. It is vital that you track the performance of your emails. Firstly, you need to check the open rates; was your headline good enough?

Secondly, check the number of unsubscribers; are you saying something that is putting people right off?

Thirdly, make sure to track your clicks and conversions to really see how your emails are performing; what needs changing and what is working wonders!

Email marketing is extremely powerful if used carefully and correctly.

It can ignite an important relationship between your brand and your customer that could blossom into a long-lasting one.

So never underestimate the power of email!
